Human Resources

While human resources teams all over organization play a vital part in tracking employee performance, similar processes for them have been few and far in between. These levels of OKRs are indicative & will differ for organizations with different sizes, stages & maturity of OKR processes.

Company level OKRs

ObjectivesKey ResultsObservations
Transform the company environment to one of the most employee friendly work cultureWhile the KRs are very well aligned with the objective, they need to have a due date for measuring the improvement. These can be reworked as:

  1. Featured in leading publication’s
  2. Employee engagement increased by 40% from Q4 FY 2016-17 to Q2 FY 2017-18
  3. 95% Glassdoor reviews in Q2 FY 2017-18 speak in favour of working in the company as opposed to 65% reviews in Q2 FY 2016-17

Team Level OKRs

ObjectivesKey ResultsObservations
Increase Employee Engagement by Q4 FY 2017-18
  1. Absenteeism reduced by 35%
  2. Increase in productivity levels by 35%
  3. 40% increase in employees taking initiative for self-development
The 3rd KR is a task with no apparent impact on the objective. It can be modified to, “Document 20 most common complaints per day and rectify them to prevent re-occurrence” for better alignment with the objective.
Improve the performance management process by Q4 FY 2017-18
  1. 90% increase in positive feedback through anonymous surveys conducted in Q2 FY 2017-18
The first two KRs are informative, but don’t provide meaningful information like the 3rd one. Rewording them to ‘Implementation of OKR methodology in Q2 FY 2017-18 led to 80% employees gaining clarity in their goal setting process’ and ‘Initiation of continuous feedback led to 75% employees participating in regular exchange of feedback during Q2 FY 2017-18’ will help in better understanding of, and see the improvement in, HR processes.
Provide employees with better options to unwind at workThe KRs for this objective must have a way to measure the efficiency of the current KRs for better understanding. Rewording the KRs to reflect this, will provide actionable insights.

  1. Meditation and yoga camps organized 3 times a week that see minimum 60-70 employees participate every batch
  2. Indoor sports room (consisting of ping-pong, darts, foosball, etc.) to receive 80% positive rating in feedback conducted in Q2 FY 2017-18
